Bill Dawes, Comedic Advisor 

Bill Dawes is a comic, actor, writer, and producer. Most recently, Bill has made appearances on “Mo” on Netflix, “Alaska Daily” on ABC, “The Other Two” on HBO, “NCIS” on CBS, “Wedding  Season” on Hulu, and “City on a Hill” on Showtime.  Other TV credits include all 3 “Law and Order” series, “Sex and the City,” “Criminal Minds,” “Kevin Can Wait,” “SWAT,” “The Good Fight,” and “Damages.” He will also be featured as a recurring role in “1883: Bass Reeves,” this fall on Paramount plus, and will reprise his role as Bob Robinson in season 2 of “Mo.”

He’s also appeared in several independent feature films, including the Amazon studio feature “Encounter” with Riz Ahmed. He starred co-wrote and co-produced the award-winning feature “Before the Sun Explodes,” also airing on Paramount plus. He starred in, co-wrote, and co-produced the short film “Beautiful Violence,” which has garnered over 150 awards, including 14 best acting trophies for Bill. He also is a co-producer on the upcoming feature “The Performance,” starring Jeremy Piven and Robert Carlyle.

As a comic, Bill is a Hollywood Laugh Factory regular and is also a national and international headliner, having performed as a part of several comedy festivals, including the New York Comedy Festival, Netflix is a Joke, New Zealand Comedy Festival, and South by Southwest. He’s appeared on AXS TV twice, including its “Best of Gotham Comedy Live” and has toured in over 20 countries, including tours with the USO in Kuwait, Iraq and Afghanistan.

Bill has written several pieces for Punchline Magazine and The Good Men Project about standup comedy and Brazilian jiu jitsu, where he currently ranks as a first-degree black belt.

Bill currently lives in a trailer in Austin, Texas.
