“No Noise For Anyone Podcast” Gains in Popularity

As the world continues to inundate itself with overindulgence in rambling media, video, snaps, Instas, Facebooking, Bumbling, and every other possible way to dope your dopamine, a group of MIT Engineers are riding a streak no one thought humanly possible.

They are running their record setting 840th podcast of “No Noise for Anyone” on all major streaming platforms.  While the premise may seem overly simple, the MIT Engineers secretly get the biggest kick out of hearing other people promote their podcast.

On a New York subway just last week, a male passenger, approximately 30 years old, seen sitting still with red earbuds in his ears, was resting quietly with his eyes closed. Suddenly, he smiles.  A female passenger riding next to him, intrigued by his subtle grin gently taps him on his shoulder, and asks, ‘What are you listening to?’ He replies, “No Noise for Anyone. It’s great!  I can’t believe how compelling it all is.  Here, take a listen.” He pulls out his red left earbud and pops it in her right ear.  She can’t believe her ear!

She doesn’t hear anything. Nothing. What is she missing? She closes her eyes, trying to listen harder, fearing she doesn’t understand.  She waits.  More nothing.  She pulls out the lone earbud, “Um, how come I don’t hear anything?”

“Isn’t it awesome?”  “Don’t you appreciate the beauty of the silence?”  He asks.

“Yeah, but not forever.” She replies.

“True,” he returns, “however, you’ll fall more in love w the silence than you could possibly imagine.

“I guess.”  She pulls her backpack to her lap, unzips it, and grabs her novel that’s resting on the inside edge, which is leaning on her computer.  Upon opening her book, she pauses ever so briefly to look around.  No one is reading a book.  No one.  She furrows her brow a moment and opens her book.  She keeps reading the same line over and over. “Under the bridge, the fox continued to peer toward the sunset.”  The sunset.  The sunset.  She couldn’t get past that.

Sighing, she grabs her phone and opens her favorite streaming service.  “There’s no way this can be enjoyable.  No way,” she whispers.  She scrolls to “No Noise for Anyone,” pops in her earbuds, and waits.  Within moments, a sudden peace came over her.  She pictured a fox and a sunset, and creased the tiniest smile from the corner of her mouth, without ever hearing a sound.
