Following up on our previous story of Charles Grimm III, who was discovered by this reporter to be illegally residing in the historic Wrigley Field scoreboard.
In a follow-up conversation, Mr. Grimm revealed that the main reason he started living in the scoreboard after he was suddenly let go by his former employer Al’s Beef, a Chicago mainstay since 1938.
Further investigation by this reporter with Al’s Beef, it has been discovered that the company and assets have been recently sold to a venture capital group. With this sale and change in control, many employees have been impacted and some positions have been eliminated.
Equally stunning is that the venture capital firm acquiring Big Al’s is known as Walkman Headphones, LLC. Further investigation has revealed that this investment company is actually jointly owned by Mr. Steve Bartman and former major league star and business entrepreneur Lenny Dykstra.
Both Mr. Bartman and Mr. Dykstra were unable to be reached for comment on their acquisition of this Chicago icon at this time.
We will keep you updated as new developments occur.
