Cinematic Newcomer… Action To The Max!

It’s Show Time on the set of “Hear No Evil… See No Evil… Speak No Evil!” The latest action-packed blockbuster from Writer/Director, Mitchell Staney.
What makes this film possibly the most unprecedented action movie of all time is the casting of the lead role, Bounty Hunter, Axel Blaze. Axel will be played by newcomer Wyatt Jacoby. Why is this so extraordinary, you ask? Wyatt is blind, deaf, and mute.
I sat down with Director, Staney to get some insight on the making of the movie.
MPL: Why did you decide to cast unknown Wyatt Jacoby in the lead role? I’m especially curious because he is blind, deaf, and mute.
Staney: Wyatt had that exact look that I was searching for. Lost. Bewildered. Unknowing. Almost clueless, I would say.
MPL: Were there particular challenges in directing Wyatt, because of his… conditions?
Staney: Well, yes. Obviously. He can’t see or hear me. And he can’t talk to me either. Stunts were a big challenge. But like a champ, he did all his own stunts. He broke over 60 bones, needed over 130 stitches for multiple contusions, and suffered second and third degree burns during the filming. He never complained once.
MPL: That is on the scale of Jackie Chan-dangerous! So, he actually conveyed that he wanted to do all of his own stunts?
Staney: Well, he never said “No.”
We then sat down with Wyatt for an interview, as well. His agent sat in with us as a translator. My first question was how Wyatt got involved in acting. It was at this point I found out that Wyatt’s agent, who’s name I never learned, was born without a tongue and is actually Portuguese. He could not understand my questions nor relay them to Wyatt anyway.
I shook his prosthetic hand and nodded as a gesture of thanks.
The film is scheduled for release in March 2024.
