Disloyalty

When you run a restaurant or bar, loyalty can make or break you as a business. However, a bar in New York city has a unique disloyalty program where the reward customers for staying away from their place. Bar and Chicken Tender on 8th Ave has come up with a way to keep their most annoying patrons away. They send out gift cards and chances to win special raffles for not coming in on a month to month basis. Owner Tiffany Hirsh explained, “We used to have assholes come in get drunk and be so obnoxious that our good loyal customers would leave early and it would cost us thousands in revenue a month. So we figured a way to pay people who were a holes to stay away. Our most popular thing we have for them is a 50/50 raffle where in order to win you can’t be present. Also you rack up points foe each month we don’t see you in our bar. The points add up and they get extra raffle tickets and so in order to win you can’t be seen. We also have a contest each year for our most disloyal customers. We actually buy a gift card to our competitor’s bar across the street. Since we instituted the disloyalty program our profits have increased 2 fold and our competition is tanking. We have to be careful not to put them out of business for fear that the assholes will have no where else to go. My father-in-law who also happens to be a drunk won last week’s raffle by the way and ended up getting arrested after a fight at my competitor’s bar, so it has been a win-win for me.”
