Funerals are a sad event but according to Nate Greaver, it doesn’t have to be that way. Nate Greaver, a former stand-up comedian and entrepreneur has created a company designed to, as he puts it, put the fun in funeral. His company is called Ulaughogy, designed to create your own personal eulogy for your funeral, whenever that may be. Nate described how this works, “Our clients tell us as much about themselves as possible and my comedy writers go to work. They come up with a brilliant eulogy filled with anecdotes and laughter, and for an extra $100 we will throw in a jab or two at someone you can’t stand.”
Ulaughogy has had some growing pains in it’s beginning. Nate shared some of his companies’ growing pains, “First off, we learned really quickly that we needed a legal document to make sure our client puts our eulogy in their will. Unfortunately, our top comedian Brad White got attacked by members of the deceased family because they had no idea their loved one purchased our eulogy. After they settled down and stopped Brad’s bleeding, he was able to finish, and they all had a great laugh. Another issue we found out the hard way, was to collect money prior to the death. We are still in court with Mr. Steele’s estate about getting what he owes us. It does however explain the jabs he wanted us to make about not having to pay back his cousins for the money they loaned him.”
Nate is fully confident this business will be a success. He says he learned a lot from his last failure, Broadway Breakup, which sends singing divorce telegrams. He is always trying to add laughter and comedy to solemn occasions. I guess he believes we could always use a good laugh.
