Could you imagine finding a finger in your chili at a famous fast-food restaurant? For legal reasons we will call this place a fake name, Mendy’s. It was at a Mendy’s in Altoona, Iowa where Freddy Lumpkin sat down to have his usual meal at “Mendy’s” a frosty and their famous chili. Well, let’s just say this was no ordinary meal and Freddy lifted his spoon full of chili with a Mendy’s surprise, (wait for it….dramatic effect) a finger was inside his chili.
Now many fast-food restaurants have contests where patrons can win millions of dollars and so Freddie got excited as he walked up to the counter to show his “prize” findings. After Lucille fainted, she filled out the accident form and Freddie was on his way to millions. “Mendy’s” offered free square shaped burgers for life and a million dollars but Freddy saw bigger dollar signs if he went to court and was willing to roll the dice.
Unfortunately for Freddie during court the Mendy’s legal team was able to use the finger’s DNA and prove it was actually Freddie’s. Yes, Freddie who had been known by his buddies as six finger Freddie actually cut of his own fingers in an effort to collect millions. As the “Mendy’s” attorney put it, when Freddy points his finger at us 4 or 5 fingers are pointing at Mr. Lumpkin. It turned out that the kids who worked at the fast-food chain actually saved the finger an put it on ice in effort to see if it could be reattached (apparently they saw this on a Grey’s Anatomy episode). As Freddy was being hauled off to jail, he was overheard telling his buddies “I would have gotten away with it, if it wasn’t for those meddling kids.” “Mendy’s” reputation has rebounded from this frosty situation and currently selling it’s chili at record numbers. So, it looks like only Freddy got fingered.
