Sugar Sweet Candy Company (SSC) has come under fire for their newest Halloween treat. SSC as they are sometime referred to has done it again and according to Mary Johnson of the Kids Safety Council of America explained her disgust with SCC, saying, “You would have thought that SSC learned their lesson after their candy cigarettes had to be pulled from the market after finding out they were infused with liquid nicotine. Unfortunately, that is not the case as we have found out that SSC has developed candy apples with a twist. SSC has a co-promotion with The Blade razor company where they have The Blade X their newest razor with a 6 blade system embedded in their candy apples. Yes, they have the blades safely wrapped and all, but kids do not need to be enticed to shave at such a young age. All they are really doing is encouraging dads to steal the candy apples from their kids and that is just mean.”
The head of marketing for Sugar Sweet Candy Company, Larry Glucose contacted Media Pub Live to defend his company. Larry said, “Mary is so full of corn syrup, if you know what I mean. First off, we do not have real razors in our candy apples we have razor shaped gummies embedded in our delicious candy apples. Yes, we co-promote the Blade X but it’s all in fun and poses no safety issue to kids. Second of all, there is no proof that liquid nicotine causes any issues in kids and we vehemently deny that our candy cigarettes caused any health risks but we still pulled it from the market. However, our delicious candy vape pens will be out just in time for Christmas and will make a great stocking stuffer.”
