Kid Bull Riding

The American Association of Bull Riding is trying to expand their fan base. The AABR is trying to get kids into the exciting sport of Bull Riding and the VP of marketing Tommy Fazeplant explained their new outreach, “We need to expand our audience and so we are trying something completely new. Instead of starting at age 18 we are going to allow kids 10 and up a chance at riding a full grown bull for eight seconds. We are currently in our testing phase and the biggest thing we have learned so far, is to have the parents sign a release form that doesn’t hold us liable for anything. Another big learning was that while it was thought to be a great idea to tape the little kid’s hands to the bull so they would last eight seconds, it actually was not such a good idea. Sure, the little guys lasted eight seconds but getting them detached was a nightmare. For example, poor 11-year-old Bobby Jones was stuck to a bull for 6 hours. We had to wait until the bull fell asleep to remove the little guy. Then there was 13-year-old Shirley Thomas, she got tossed by the bull and flew the highest of anyone I have ever seen but couldn’t stick the landing. The good news is that the local orthopedic doctor is said to be the best at putting bones back together.  We may have to revisit this whole idea and just let the kids be the clowns that distract the bulls from killing our fallen riders.  We are still testing a lot of ideas and look forward to getting the young bucks involved in this exciting sport.”
