Labor Getting Under Control

Just last week, outside of Chicago, in a town called Lake Forest, several CEOs of fortune 500 companies congregated to talk about the challenges with finding good labor. Lisa Openclouse had this to say as she and her company focus on recruiting efforts, “We know labor laws are important and we need to what is right, we outweighed litigation costs and said, heck, let’s start hiring 8 year olds…it is cheap labor and can hire tons of them only have them each work 1 hour a day….today we have a staff of 66 8 year olds running the company…..yeah, sounds messed up….but we are fully staffed…we also have grown the legal staff….we sort of know going in we are screwed…..heck, always good to take risks!”
CEO of Techtown had this to say after attending the session, “I really don’t agree with staffing a company with 8 year olds, however at 8, they are fairly self-sufficient…yeah they piss and shit every so often on the office furniture (daily)…..but the productivity is insane because these kids are so damn hyper….we see that crazy energy being parked into company initiatives and the work gets done….I do hate kids…..but very proud of how they are helping!”
