Lap Seats

Frontier Airlines has decided to make a bold move in the airline industry. Frontier is constantly looking for ways to increase profits and with their current overhead bag debacle where customers get charged for bringing bags that are considered over sized regardless if they are or not. Maybe giving the gate agents a cut of the profits as well as the end all be all decision of whether the bags needed to be checked and charged was not a bright decision. They have now moved into their next big money maker and chief marketing officer Dennis S. Cammer explained exactly what that is, “We have always overbooked and now we are going to change that and the best way to do that, is to charge a reduced fee for customers who wish to fly on someone’s lap. The discounted price allows cheap flyers a way to get a low-cost flight and let’s us make more money per flight. The have a choice to pay less to fly on a lap or pay less to allow someone else to sit on their lap. In our test flights it has been a great success minus the pervert who let’s just say, wouldn’t stop poking the person sitting on his lap.”
We will see if this new lap rider system is successful, but one thing is for sure, Frontier along with other airlines won’t stop until they take every dollar they can from their customers. They are also considering charging customers an early exit fee which will allow those willing to pay to exit the plane first. In addition, they are looking to add an additional fee to use the slide to get off.
