Legends of the LPGA, Father Hopeful for Dentist Daughter………..

When Gus Coreia moved his family from snowy  Saline, Michigan to Sunrise, Florida in the greater Miami / Fort Lauderdale area, he wanted to provide an environment for his then two teenage daughters to flourish as golfers. Fast forward 3 decades later to today and his youngest daughter, Dr. Daniela Coreia DDS,  has a chance to make it on to the Legends of the LPGA senior tour.

“Although I was disappointed when my daughters chose medicine over golf, Daniela has a chance to succeed in realizing my American dream for them,” Gus glowed. “Daniela has a chance to bring honor to the family here in America and back in the home country. Her sister had chosen a different path in sports as a soccer mom which just breaks my heart as she was the more talented child,” Gus stated speaking about his eldest daughter, Dr. Milena Park, OD.

“I feel that is my last chance at pleasing my father. Since  he was an Olympic judo referee, he has always had high expectations for me and my sister,” moped Dr. Coreia, as she methodically placed another ball on to the driving range tee. “I suppose that I should be thankful to him and my mother that we weren’t forced into piano lessons or wearing bikinis in regional beauty contests like my cousins up in the Midwest had to endure,” continued the 4 year letter winner at the University of Florida golf team.

Legends of the LPGA will hold a regional open competition at Bonaventure Country Club in Weston, Florida, next weekend where Daniela has a good chance at making the tour.
