MLB Rule Changes

Share

Major League Baseball has implemented many rule changes to speed up the game. The changes have been considered a success and as a result, games have sped up making MLB and their fans very happy. The changes have also encouraged Jason Gomez, head of rules changes for the league to submit new changes for future seasons. Mr. Gomez explained a few of his ideas, saying “The newest rule would be to allow a pitcher to get to throw a retaliation pitch at a designated hitter (not the DH).  The guy getting hit will be called the designated asshole or DA and the player will be voted on by their teammates anonymously, ensuring that the asshole teammate becomes the target of a beam-ball. The benefit is that this will promote a friendlier environment inside the clubhouse. If you want to be a jerk to your teammates, be ready to get beamed. Another rule is that we will allow one on one fights like in hockey, and both players involved will have to sit out 1 to 2 innings in the field. We are stealing this from hockey because we realize that this is what the fans love. Those are just a few of the rule changes I would like to see next season. These new rules can be a game changer and bring more younger fans into the fold. We are also contemplating allowing anyone caught running onto the field an opportunity to get hit by a team’s closer to avoid arrest. I am not sure our lawyers will agree to that one but we are just spitballing some ideas.”
