Sesame Street Behind the Scenes

Sesame Street is back in the news as Grover is set to put out his tell all book about the behind the scenes on the set of this timeless children’s classic television show.  MediaPub.Live has gotten a hold of the book and is ready to share some of the crazy highlights.

Turns out Oscar the Grouch was a clean freak with OCD and hated that everyone thought he was trashy. He told people the truth and most people thought he was grouchy because of it. He claimed that if he was truly dirty his fur would be dirty and black but no, it was clean green. His house was not actually a trash can, it was merely a deterrent for thieves who congregated on the streets after dark. He actually lived in a below ground suite and it was immaculate.  The Trash can was just an entrance to his plush below ground 4 bedroom apartment.

Bert and Ernie were not gay, however because Bert couldn’t get a job after his arrest for peeing on his neighbor…I mean himself and his neighbors dog, he could only afford to live with his cousins friend Ernie. Turns out Ernie’s inappropriate relationship with rubber duckies caused his last 5 roommates to leave and so Bert was his only option as a roommate.

Big Bird had a big drug problem, so much so that he would constantly claim he saw people who didn’t exist. The Snufflepaugus guy was an animal Big Bird would hallucinate about while hopped up on acid. The cast almost walked off the set multiple times as a result of the bird’s drug problem. Contrary to people’s belief, Big Bird was named “Big” because of his height not his penis size. The rumor is believed to have been started by Big Bird himself while hopped up on coke. His real name Arnie McFeathers and only his mother ever calls him by his real name.

Cookie Monster has diabetes as a result of his first 5 years on the show. Cookie Monster has developed a hatred for cookies and also an allergic reaction to cookies. The problem is that Cookie Monster signed a 25 year contract that forces him to say he loves cookies, you will notice that he never swallows the cookies he puts in his mouth. People for years accused him of being bulimic, but it turns out his allergic reaction to cookies would have killed him had he ever swallowed them.

Lastly, Elmo only joined the show because he was having an affair with Maria and blackmailed her into his role. Maria had a furry fetish and was having an on again off again relationship with Elmo. Elmo threatened to expose the relationship and bring down Maria’s career if she didn’t get him a part on the show. Kermit said he overheard Elmo yelling at Maria saying, “Elmo wants bigger role on show! You no let Elmo on show, Elmo tell everyone about how you like to be bent over Oscar’s trash can and be spanked.”
