Sewing Camps

Share

Sweatshops are illegal in the United States but high end clothing companies have figured out a clever workaround to this problem. Clothing companies are opening overnight sewing camps for kids and are making them affordable. They camps teach kids how to sew and sew very efficiently. The camp has daily contests for the kid that sews the most outfits, the winner gets an extra desert at dinner. The desert still has to be finished in their 15 minute allotment for dinner time in order to get back to their night shift to qualify for the next contest, where the winner gets extra bacon in the morning . If the contests aren’t enough to get the kids excited, they allow the kids to keep 1 outfit for every 25 outfits sewed.

These camps are so successful for these companies they are looking to expand to aftercare programs across the country. The companies tried to implement a childcare program for 3 to 5 year olds but a majority of the clothing had to be sold at outlet malls due to too many mistakes. Shoe companies are looking on closely to see if they too can open these fun camps for kids.
