BREAKING: New Voter Registration Rules May Require Americans to Produce Every Document Except Their Netflix Password

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Americans hoping to register to vote under the proposed SAVE Act are being advised to begin gathering important documents immediately… before Congress changes its mind again.

Election officials reportedly assured citizens that proving their identity should be “simple”.

One official explained, “It’s really very simple. To register to vote in a federal election under the proposed SAVE Act, an individual just has to provide official, unexpired Documentary Proof of Citizenship (DPOC) in person, like:

• A valid S. Passport (or Passport Card).
• A certified S. Birth Certificate issued by a state, county, municipal authority, or outlying possession bearing an official seal.
• A Consular Report of Birth Abroad or Certification of Birth issued by the Department of State.
• A Certificate of Naturalization or Certificate of Citizenship issued by the federal government.
• A Document evidencing U.S. citizenship issued by the Bureau of Indian Affairs or a federally recognized tribe.

• BOTH: Photo ID: A valid, unexpired government-issued photo identification card (such as a standard state driver’s license or state ID card) and Supporting Citizenship Proof: A secondary official document confirming citizenship, which can include specific military records (like a Form DD-214 showing U.S. birthplace) or other official records designated by the state.

It seems to get a little more difficult for married women or women that are not using their birth name. But election officials say, “It is NOT difficult for married women or women that are not using their birth name” :

• If the potential voter’s current legal name differs from the name on their citizenship document (e.g., due to marriage or divorce), they must also present a complete chain of official legal name change documents (such as a marriage certificate or court order).
• If an eligible citizen entirely lacks these physical documents, they must submit a signed, notarized citizenship affidavit under penalty of perjury, which then triggers a state-level administrative review to verify their eligibility through federal databases.

Proposed requirements coming in the amended version:

• A valid passport,
• An original birth certificate,
• Proof of residence,
• Proof that the proof of residence is still your residence,
• Childhood vaccination records,
• A kindergarten report card,
• Two (2) utility bills,
• A notarized statement from two (2) witnesses who can confirm you’ve been alive continuously since birth, and
• Form BC-081-II: Verification That You Were, In Fact, Born.

Elections officials proudly tout the simplicity of the SAVE Act. However, aside from those who had a part in designing the SAVE Act, the rest of the country seems either confused by it or are completely, absolutely, 100% AGAINST the SAVE Act.

To which election officials say, “No! No they are not!”

The Department of Motor Vehicles released a brief statement welcoming the proposed SAVE Act.

“We’re thrilled. For the first time in American history, another government office may actually make us look efficient.“
