Trump Mistakes Spain’s World Cup Victory for His Own, Gets Booed by 80,000 Fans, Escorted Off Stage… Then Cropped Out of History

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Spain won the 2026 FIFA World Cup Sunday.

Apparently Donald Trump thought HE did.

The evening got off to a rough start when more than 80,000 fans greeted the President with a chorus of boos as he walked onto the field for the medal ceremony.

Trump reportedly responded with a smile and a wave, apparently concluding that tens of thousands of people had suddenly become enormous fans of his.

Witnesses described it as “the political equivalent of waving back at someone flipping you off.”

Things became even more awkward after Trump helped present Spain with the World Cup trophy.

Traditionally, the dignitaries hand over the trophy and then leave. Trump decided to start a new tradition. He stayed.

Trump stood in the middle of Spain’s championship celebration like he’d just been voted Team Mom.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino repeatedly tried to usher him off the stage.

Spain captain Rodri (Rodrigo Hernández Cascante) reportedly gave Trump gentle nudge.

Trump remained exactly where he was, smiling, clapping, and soaking in a celebration that had absolutely nothing to do with him.

Several Spanish players began looking around for the hidden camera assuming they were being punk’d.

Only after the trophy was lifted and the gold confetti exploded did Trump finally wander away, allowing Spain to celebrate Spain.

Unfortunately for Trump, and ONLY Trump, the awkwardness didn’t end there.

When FIFA released the official championship photos, Trump had mysteriously disappeared.

Not from the stadium… from the picture.

Editors reportedly left just enough of his navy suit visible to reassure historians that, yes, someone had indeed refused to leave.

Spain defeated Argentina.

FIFA defeated awkwardness.

Adobe defeated Trump.
