BREAKING FLASHBACK: Trump Denies Sleeping During Peace Summit, Says He Was “Listening While Recharging”

Washington, D.C. – Donald Trump is once again denying claims that he fell asleep during an international peace summit back in February, insisting the viral video only showed him “thinking with his eyes closed.”
The footage, filmed during the Board of Peace meeting in Washington, D.C., showed Trump with his head drooping and eyes shut while military leaders from over 40 countries gave speeches. Witnesses say he appeared to wake up mainly during applause.
But Trump says the media got it all wrong.
“I was not sleeping. I don’t sleep,” Trump told reporters. “I was listening while recharging. Very advanced leadership technique. Napoleon did it. Probably Jesus too. Okay?”
Critics online mocked the moment, calling him “Sleepy Don” and “Don Snoreleone.”
Trump quickly defended himself.
“The room was warm. The speeches were very long. One guy from Belgium sounded like a microwave reading instructions. Totally unfair situation for me. Okay?”
The White House later claimed Trump was using the “Presidential Dormant Listening Device,” which doctors, scientists, and Neil deGrasse Tyson, confirmed is not an actual thing.
“When my eyes close, my brain actually works harder. Doctors are amazed by it. They’ve never seen anything like it. Person, Woman, Man, Camera, TV. Never. Big brain. Bigly knowledge. Person, Woman, Man, Camera, TV. Okay?”
Trump has also denied appearing sleepy, or actually sleeping, during several other events this year, including a Cabinet meeting, a healthcare briefing, Oval Office meetings, as well as a Roundtable and several Press Conferences.
“A lot of geniuses close their eyes to think. Einstein. Edison. Me. Probably Batman, okay? My eyes were closed because I was visualizing peace. Nobody visualizes peace better than me, okay? No one knows peace like I do, trust me. Okay?”
He ended the press conference by insisting he has “more energy than any president in history” before briefly closing his eyes to “recharge.”
